Agfa Materials and Holst Centre demonstrate world's first ITO*- and litho-free OLEDS on foil
Agfa Materials, part of the Belgian Agfa-Gevaert Group, Philips Research, and Holst Centre, an open-innovation initiative by IMEC (Belgium) and TNO (The Netherlands) demonstrate the world’s first large-area flexible OLED tile that does not require ITO as transparent electrode and has printed shunting lines. The result, partly funded by the EU FP7 Fast2Light project, eliminates costly material and lithography process steps. It is therefore a significant improvement towards low-cost, high volume and large-area manufacturing of flexible OLED lighting.
Nekoosa to distribute SYNAPS®, Agfa's premium offset synthetic paper, in North America
Agfa and Nekoosa Coated Products have announced today that they have entered into a converting and distribution partnership for the distribution of SYNAPS, Agfa’s premium offset synthetic paper, in the North American markets. SYNAPS features a luxurious look and feel on a strong, durable sheet that prints with ease using conventional inks on offset presses. Thanks to its unique qualities, SYNAPS makes synthetic printing possible for all commercial offset printers.
Agfa Materials launches SYNAPS, a new high-quality synthetic paper
Agfa Materials announced today that it will launch SYNAPS, a newly-developed, polyester-based, synthetic paper for use on offset printing presses. The material, which is noted for its superior printability and exceptionally fast drying time, will be shown for the first time at drupa 2008.
